A little bit of culture for the children and an indulgent afternoon for myself during the summer holidays – Ravilious exhibition at the Dulwich Picture Gallery – lovely! His composition, colours and texture simply using watercolour and pencil are quite breathtaking.
I’m also rather curious about the embroidery he designed for a furnishing shop, Dunbar Hay Ltd., in 1930s. It would be fascinating to know if this design was ever stitched and what it looked like?
