Working from my home, Ann’s Orchard, reputedly built on land given by the Boelyn family to King Henry VIII on the occassion of his marriage to Anne, I design and make needlework kits.
I have been fascinated by textiles since quite tiny and take great pleasure in colleting antique and vintage needlework which inspire my own designs. My work is a contemporary take on the Victorian tradition of sewing with Japanese glass seed beads. These beads are both wonderful but challenging to design with as they reflect and absorb light, giving variations in texture and an iridescent quality to needlework.
